Read-a-Thon

The Annual Brooke Jackman Read -a -Thon

Every year the Annual Brooke Jackman Read-a-thon is held on the Saturday before 9/11 to bring children and families together to spread Brooke's love for reading.  It is our way to honor Brooke and all those who lost their lives on 9/11 by doing something positive for the children of New York.  This is a free event for children of all ages that celebrates the positive, transformative power of literacy and commemorates nearly 2 decades of instilling the love of reading into hundreds of children throughout New York

New Yorkers from all walks of life come together with The Jackman Family to celebrate Brooke's Love of Reading. Past Readers have included: Broadway Actors, New York Fire Commissioner Salvatore Cassano, members of The NYFD,  Rosie Perez,  Twilight actress Julia Jones, Fatima Ptacek, the voice of Dora The Explorer  and acclaimed children's author Stephanie Calmenson, and WPIX 11 Weatherman,  Mr. G has served as MC. Stay tuned for more information about this year's participants.
